I spent a few days in the Big Apple to be your personal New York Foodie guide. There’s nothing as frustrating as visiting a new city and having no clue what to eat and where. I am a planner, and so is my husband. We created an itinerary to visit New York and had some of the most delicious food.
I love the diversity of food options that New York City offers. You can savor flavors from around the world, and that’s something truly special about this city. Whether you’re craving a classic slice of New York-style pizza or want to explore exotic cuisines, the Big Apple always has something delicious to offer.
I’ll be walking you through some of my favorite Restaurants and eateries in the heart of New York. From hidden gems tucked away in charming neighborhoods to iconic dining destinations that have stood the test of time. Wether you’re a local seeking new flavors or a traveler eager to experience NYC’s delights, this guide is going to be a roadmap to unforgettable dining experiences.

Pie Guy
Pie Guy was the first hidden gem that we discovered when we landed in New York, we were famished. It took us about half an hour to find this quint pizza store and it was worth it. You can’t visit New York and not get dollar pizza. I had tried a few places in the duration of our stay but none of them were as good. Get the Spicy Rigatoni pizza, a delicious homemade vodka sauce finished with Calabrian chili, fresh mozzarella and baked rigatoni. There’s nothing better.

Zia Maria
Nestled in the heart of New York, Zia Maria stands as a true testament to authentic Italian dinning. From the moment you step inside, the rustic charm and the melodic cadence of the servers’ accents whisk you away to the streets of Italy. I had the Lobster Ravioli, each bite reveals a symphony of flavors, blending tender lobster, creamy cheeses, and a fragrant tomato-cream sauce. It’s delicious. From their decor to the warm greetings, Zia Maria captures the essence of Italy.

Maman
If you want to go to a stunning New York City Cafe, Maman is the place. I was curious to know the meaning behind the name, I googled it and found my answer. Maman means mother in French, just beautiful. It’s very chic and cozy, the flowers and decor are absolutely stunning. It’s lovely in the summer time since they have outdoor seating. Beautifully decorated with a look of a French Bakery. They have all the pastries you can think of.
I had a lavender latte and their Belgium waffles were heavenly.

Supertaste
My favorite thing about Supertaste was how inexpensive their food was. The noodles were perfect. It’s a busy spot and there wasn’t much space to sit down and eat but I loved that it was so quint. I had the Soy Bean paste noodle for $6.75. The amount of flavor the noodles had was out of this world. They had so many other options as well, there’s a lot to choose from.

Le Pain Quotidien (Central Park)
This was such a pinch me moment! I had always dreamed about visiting Central Park when I was a kid. I watched a lot of movies growing up, and Central Park was quite a popular place in a lot of Romcoms that I used to watch. My husband took me to Le Pain Quotidien for brunch. It was perfect. The staff were incredibly friendly, everything was delicious and the view as well as the ambiance of Central Park was worth it. We got some pastries to go, found a nice spot under a big tree and sat there for hours, people watching. I would relive that experience again, it was wonderful.

Unregular Pizza
Unregular Pizza is probably my second favorite pizza spot in New York. It’s a small store front, barely any space to sit, definitely take it to go. The pizza is great, crusty, the right amount amount of crunchy and the right amount of chewy. My husband and I both had the Pepperoni and burrata pizza. The sauce was amazing, the pepperoni was plentiful, the honey and hot sauce add a great layer of flavor. The burata on it made it even better, the inside liquified and it tasted so good. It was an expensive slice, but it was worth it.

Kyuramen
Kuyramen is a great ramen spot. It was raining so bad one afternoon, my husband and I needed something to warm us up, and what better than a hot bowl of ramen? The best part? It was just the two of us when we got there. The server was friendly, she answered all of my questions and checked on our table regularly. Their portions were huge, my husband and I could barely walk out of the door after lunch. The food was great, broth 10/10. I highly recommend Kyuramen.

Hole in the wall
Hole in the wall Flatiron is nestled in Manhattan. A place to pick up breakfast on the way to work or end your day with a casual dinner. The ambiance and the lighting, perfection! It was a few feet away from our hotel, and the last restaurant we ate at before we took our flight home. I had the Smoked Salmon Lox Toast and it was delicious! Quite filling.
