I spent 24 hours in Raleigh for the first time. My friends were getting engaged so my husband and I made a quick trip down there to celebrate this special occasion. We were able to explore a part of Raleigh before heading to the engagement dinner. I was quite excited to explore this new city I had never been to. I made an itinerary so it is would be easier for us to know what we were doing ahead of time as opposed to looking for things to do the day of.
So, If you only have 24 hours to spend in Raleigh, this post is for you.
I stayed at an AirB&B in a quiet neighborhood, the pricing was affordable. It was about 15 minutes away from downtown Raleigh. The AirB&B was spacious, it had a kitchen and a decent bathroom. My favorite part was the bed, it felt like I was sleeping on a cloud, the covers were incredible. I’m going to leave the link HERE in case you want to book a stay with the host.
Heirloom Coffee Tea Sake
My husband and I started off at Heirloom Coffee Tea Sake in Downtown Raleigh. I love a coffee shop that has beautiful aesthetics and good food/drinks. It’s cute, has a wide variety of teas and coffee to choose from and the food that we had we were more than happy with. We had the Heirloom breakfast Baguette, consisting of scallion eggs, kewpie mayo, cheese, and chili oil in a Khao jee roll. The sandwich was delicious and flavorful.
The service was great, all staff were kind and quick with our order. If you’re looking for an instagrammable coffee shop with great food and drinks in Raleigh, stop by the Heirloom Coffee Tea Sake.
North Carolina Museum of Art
The North Carolina Museum of Art is number one on my list of favorite museums I’ve visited. I’ve been to a few museums in cities like Washington DC, Austin Texas, New York, and Charlotte. But this particular museum has to be my favorite.
A few facts about this museum:
- It’s free to visit
- They’re open Wednesdays to Sundays from 10am to 5pm
- If you love art, you’re going to appreciate this museum, the paintings are incredible.
Meet Fresh
Meet Fresh is an authentic Taiwanese desserts spot, but they’re also know for their Boba tea.
Their well know desserts:
- Purple Rice
- Shaved Ice
- Boba Tea
- Tofu Pudding
- Egg Waffle
- Sago Drinks
Seasons 52
Seasons 52 is a great spot to go to for dinner. The food prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. Make sure to make reservations beforehand, as it looks like a popular restaurant. We celebrated our friends engagement at this restaurant, the staff were friendly and quick to bring out our food.
My favorites from dinner:
- Philly Cheesesteak Flat Bread
- Lump Crab Cake
- Lobster Bisque
- Watermelon Margarita
My friends and I were seated at a booth, the restaurant was beautiful and the service was exceptional. Since I only had 24 hours in Raleigh, I didn’t get the chance to explore and try other ones. As much as I would like to say I would go back, I would probably try food elsewhere in Raleigh to explore more.
24 Hours in Raleigh Conclusion
I like Raleigh, but it definitely was a struggle to find things to do that I enjoy. The museum was my favorite part of the trip for sure. I would like to explore just a little more before I make a set decision about the City. I did have a great time with my husband and my friends, and I hope to visit back again soon.
