Myrtle Beach Vacation for Couples: Where We Stayed, Ate & Explored

Why Myrtle Beach Vacation could be perfect for couples.

Myrtle Beach is located on the East Coast in South Carolina. There’s a lot to do and see on this stunning beach. It is known as a resort city, family-friendly, and great for couples.

My husband and I vacationed in Myrtle Beach for a couple of days to celebrate our anniversary, and we had a ball. A question a lot of people ask is, When is the best month to go to Myrtle Beach? Right at the end of Summer,  early September, when vacation season is over, with no chaos. Or between April and May, right before Summer starts.

Where we stayed in Myrtle Beach

We stayed at the Prince Resort with a beautiful ocean view and a large private Balcony.

The Hotel felt more like home, like an Airbnb, not a hotel room, perfect for couples. It came with a full kitchen and living space, and a large bathtub. The pool and jacuzzi are only a walk away from the Cherry Grove Pier. It’s worth paying a visit as well.

  • The Prince Resort is a 3-star hotel, and Google reviews are 4.2 stars at the time of writing this blog.
  • They have an on-site restaurant with a reasonably priced breakfast buffet and dinner menu.
  • The resort also offers great deals, including weekly, military, senior, and medical professional discounts.

Things to do in Myrtle Beach

Sky Wheel Myrtle Beach

The Sky Wheel is located at the Boardwalk.

Take a nice stroll on the beach and head over to the Sky Wheel to get a full view of the ocean. If you want to take it a step further, add a little romance, go just when the sun is about to set. That would be the perfect view and great for couples.

The Sky Wheel is close to restaurants, shopping stores, and museums. You’ll have plenty to keep you busy afterward.

Ripley’s Aquarium

Whether you’ve been to an Aquarium before or not, don’t miss the opportunity to visit Ripley’s Aquarium.

It’s a great experience.  There are two levels in the building, which should tell you how much there is to see. My Favorite part about visiting the aquarium was touching and feeding the stingrays, they were quite friendly. I saw the most beautiful fish and thousands of fascinating creatures I had never seen before.

There’s a large store that you pass on your way out that has everything you can think of. I bought a cute stuffed stingray, a sweet reminder of the interaction I had with them. You can’t miss this during your Myrtle Beach vacation.

Helicopter Adventure Tour

The Helicopter tour was quite the experience!

The tour starts with a 2-mile introductory flight, and they offer several other tours that go as far as 40-42 miles in the air. We did the 2-mile tour over Broadway at the beach around Myrtle Waves, we also viewed the Ripken baseball fields before coming down on the helipad.

After the flight, my husband and I concluded that the 8-mile flight probably would’ve been better. But it was a great experience nonetheless. Be sure to buy your tickets online the day before so you’re in a position to skip the line.

Ripley’s Believe It or Not

If you watched Ripley’s Believe It or Not when you were a child, you might want to scratch the nostalgic itch by visiting them. And what better way to enjoy it than with your partner? Yes, there are a few questionable objects and activities, but interesting nonetheless. There’s something for everyone.

The Beach

The beach is arguably the most peaceful place to visit. Grab a cooler with food, drinks, and your favorite snacks. Don’t forget sunscreen, your towels, and an umbrella. It is the average couple’s favorite area to visit. The sound of the waves is just magical, everyone’s out living life, walking, swimming, reading, eating. It’s a feeling I wish could go on forever. If you want to have a great time, Myrtle Beach Vacation is great for couples.

Our Favorite Food Spots

Wicked Tuna

The Wicked Tuna was a wonderful experience, and the food was delicious. The views are amazing, and the windows were open, where you hear the ocean and get a nice fresh breeze. The food was quite expensive, but since we were on vacation, we were prepared to spend money. Otherwise, it was worth it for us, and we would go again.

Ocean Grill Restaurant

The Ocean Grill restaurant is on-site at the Prince Resort. Their breakfast was reasonably priced for the food that we ate. It was buffet style, so there were quite a few options to choose from, and the staff were incredibly friendly.

Moe Moons

Moe Moons is a restaurant located on the Boardwalk, right next to the ocean. The overall restaurant was fairly crowded, but a big enough place where seating was not an issue for a party of two. The food was delicious. A frequently ordered appetizer at the restaurant is the Bang Bang Shrimp. Be sure to try them out. Overall, Moe Moons was my favorite restaurant in Myrtle Beach.

The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar

The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar is not just a bar that caters to selling milkshakes. There’s so much to do on top of having sweet treats. There’s a bowling area, pool tables, an arcade, and indoor mini golf. But I’m convinced that they’re mostly known for their milkshakes.

Their milkshakes come with unique toppings, I had the cheesecake and strawberry topping on my milkshake. But there’s so much more to choose from. When you get a sweet tooth, you know where to go.
