Raspberry leaf & Hibiscus Tea

This raspberry leaf and hibiscus tea is my go-to cozy drink before period cramps roll around. Raspberry leaf has a mild, earthy flavor, while hibiscus adds beautiful color and a slightly tart, fruity taste. It’s simple to sip, and feels like a little moment of self-care during those not-so-fun days of the month.

Equipment

  • 1 32oz Jug or Pitcher For Brewing the tea
  • 1 Spoon For Stirring
  • 1 Glass For Serving
  • 1 Straw Optional for serving

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup Honey Add more for a sweeter taste
  • 3 teabags Raspberry Leaf Tea
  • 1/2 cup Hibiscus flowers
  • As desired Sparkling water To finish, you top the tea with sparkling water
  • As desired Lime Juice To finish, to top the tea with lime juice

Instructions

  • Bring your water to a boil. While the water is heating, prepare a large jug or pitcher for your tea.
  • Pour the honey into the bottom of your jug. Adding it first makes it easier to dissolve once the hot eater is added.
  • Carefully pour the boiling water into the jug over the honey. Give it a good stir until the honey has completely dissolved into the water.
  • Add your raspberry leaf tea and let it steep for 7 to 10 minutes. This gives the tea time to develop its flavor.
  • Remove the raspberry leaf tea, then add the hibiscus flowers to the jug. Let them steep until the tea reaches the flavor and color you like.
  • Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then store it in the refrigerator. Chill until completely cold and ready to serve.
  • Pour the chilled tea over ice, and top with as much sparkling water as you'd like. Finish with a squeeze of fresh lime juice, give it a stir, and enjoy.
